Del Rey Travel aka World Wide Travel contacted my by mail offering me free trips if I came to hear their presentation. When I arrived, their presentation was that they could get time-share/condominiums world wide at large discounts, and they could provide travel arrangements at large discounts -- but only for them members.

They convinced me and my wife that for about $4,000 we could be members. We became members and the following happened. I recovered some of this money.
1) They had guaranteed that their condo's would not exceed $898 per week. Yet when they found a condo for us in New York it was around $2,500 per week.
2) They refused to return our calls and required several emails before they would email me any answers to any trips that I had planned.
3) Their rates were, on average, much higher then I was able to get doing brief research on the internet or using another travel agent.

in other words, they were a complete scam. I suite them and discovered that they had inserted an arbitration clause such that the courts threw my case out on the grounds that I had agreed to arbitrate the matter. The problem was that I had discovered several other people that had the same scam pulled on them. However, because the amount was seldom more than a few thousand dollars, no one wanted to pursue the matter. The arbitration clause prevented a class action suit against Del Rey Travel aka World Wide Travel who also does business as nationally as DVI.

I recently discussed this matter with a friend and he told me that he had paid $6,500 for his membership and that his results was the same. This matter will be put into arbitration so that some of the money can be recovered.
