Some days ago, we received an unsollicited offer to become a "secret shopper". My husband was suspicious since the check they offered us to deposit was quite hight (almost $5.000.00), but since I had heard some TV reports on such programs, I convinced him that it was indeed legitimate. So we did deposit the check, which was a cashier's check by the way! The following day a handler called my husband to ask if the money was in the bank, since we did not know, he called and the bank said that it was. We called them back to confirm. The next assignment was to go to Western Union and mail most of the check back to some "fictitious" name in the UK, the purpose was to verify the honesty of the clercks there since supposedly there were some complaints about their honesty (!). Early this morning, we received a call from said bank that the check was no good. So now, we have to reimburse the bank the missing money in that account. Of course, the handler's phone # is no longer responsif! We have been scammed of 5.000.00! I don't undeerstand why this site will nopt accept our "monetary damages of 5.000.00!
