I bought a box set of the Andy Griffith show as advertised by the above company on Amazon.com. Upon receipt, the packaging was completely different in appearance from the advertised picture on their website. Many DVDs don't work properly or don't work at all. The picture quality is terrible leading me to think that they are compressed and definitely pirated.

I contacted their "customer service" line through email and received a response of "I will let my supplier know and get you the replacement." However, I have not heard back from them since or received the replacement.

Doing a search of "SpicyDVD.com scam" on Google reveals others with the same problem. There is no contact info on the site so no way to trace them with the only name appearing is "CW Marketing" on your credit card statement. They seem to have been removed from Amazon since as no advertisement appears currently on their site. However, they may appear under a different name in the future. Please beware of making any purchases from "SpicyDVD.com" or "CW marketing".

  • I am CW Marketing and have no affiliation. What they've done to me and my business is far worse than $100 or so that they seem to scam from everyone else.

  • Sorry, but that's all the info I had about them on my credit card. How did they get your name to use as (I'm assuming) a front?

I take it that they've affected your business revenue? Sorry to hear that. I love the Internet but sometimes it is too free. This is the first time I've been scammed and I've been buying stuff since the web's inception.

  • I have no idea. They responded (sort of) to my nasty emails today and they act as if they don't know what I'm talking about. I'm wondering if Scambook.com took it upon themselves to randomly select the CW Marketing DBA people reported on cc statements. There are several 'CW Marketing' businesses. So far, I only see my business name, home address, tel # and bus email on the profile page for my business, provided by Scambook.com. I'm calling tomorrow- I surely hope they have a damned good reason for posting my info without even trying to contact me for verification. Today was the first time I received calls about it- and those were from customers like yourself who found my info here. Hope this is a lesson that will influence online consumers to at least look to make sure there's a valid way to contact the seller (besides email). I saw the facebook like box at bottom of their website- got pretty excited thinking I was going to post about my issue, but of course it was a fake. The associated url is for the fb plugin page. I'm really, really angry.

  • That's really unfortunate. I'm going to be very leery from here on as I've probably put way too much trust in the web since I've never had a problem and bought a lot of goods (and had many great deals). Hope everything gets sorted out for you.
