On 3/25 @ 11:13 p.m. I received a text from 989-52 "ChalkBoardIQFun Facts billed at $9.99/mo Msg & Data Rates May apply. Reply HELP for help. Enter UR password on the website to continue: 9636". Immediately in a 2nd message were instruction to "reply STOP to cancel". I immediately replied stop and received a confirmation "This msg confirms that u have discontinued and will not longer receive messages or charges for this service. Call 18888906150 for help"
On 3/26 I was charged $9.99 on my Verizon Cell Phone bill for this service. I phoned Verizon on 4/25 for an explanation and they indicated they could not reverse the charge. I would have to work directly with the company.
I then phoned 18888906150 and spoke to Zey who indicated a check would be issued by Mobile Media and I should receive it in 7-10 days. The rep indicated they could see that I canceled the service on 3/25 and apologized.
On 5/15 I called the 888 number again as I had not received my check. Again, I spoke to Zey who indicated the refund was still pending. She would resubmit as a high priority and should receive a check in 7-10 days.
Today is 7/9/12 and still no check. I called again and talked to Mark who indicated my claim is still in processing; they are waiting for my cell phone carrier to validate whether they have refunded the amount to me. I was provided a reference number.
When I asked who the company was, Mark stated Mobile Media with offices in Asia Pacific and also in California. He did not have the authority to provide me the city in California where their headquarters was located.
