I followed an add on Craigslist for ASP and brought the appropriate documents and $100 training fee to the interview the next day. Mr. Martinez then informed me of an additional $700-something to pay for the rest of the classes (which he ensured was tax-deductable). Stupidly I paid the $100 (having been PROMISED a job at $14/hr 40+ hrs/week) but on my way out of his office I noticed that among the security certificates on the wall one of them was a "Certificate of Excellence" (much like you would give a 5 year old) and NONE of the information was filled in. He then tried to sell me a Macbook Pro "15.4" (whatever the hell a "15.4" is).

Since this was extremely suspicious I checked them out at home before returning (I'm supposed to go back in an hour with the other $700) and found that they are unaccredited with the Better Business Bureau and there are 9 complaints against them that they have not responded to just since May 2012 (it is now early July).

My original plan was to demand my refund back and threaten to hang out in front of their office and inform all potential victims of the scam (ergo it would be cheaper to just give me back my refund) but then I realized that since they had taken a copy of my SS card and they had my address on the application that this idea was probably stupid and potentially dangerous. I plan to file a police report instead.

Hope somebody avoids this scam after reading this!

  • I'm pretty shocked...Allianz has a good reputation in the security world from what I hear..being out for 3 yrs......They work with imperial which is an accredited school.... their certificates are legit..

I've got scammed by a place called urban.. These bastards gave me fake certificates..when I went back they were gone.. No where to be found..

a police report won't work these are civil matters... You should try to get an attorney..
