Around 3:00pm a man with a middle eastern accent called me and asked me if I had an attorney. He then told me that criminal charges were filed against me and that they were going to have the police come to my work and arrest me. When I inquired more about the charges and told them that my husband was a police officer he stated that he didn't give a @#$% and he hung up on me. I googled the number and saw all these other complaints.
The scary thing was is that he knew the last four digits of my social security number. The only other thing I would like to share is that this phone call came right after I had applied for a cash advance on line. I won't ever do that again!

- marie thats awful! i'm so glad i came across your post. i recieved the same phone call today! his name was "dan york" and he left a msg saying: "if i dont hear from you, your attorney or secretary, the only thing i can do is wish you good luck as the situation unfolds on you!" i had no idea what he was talking about! he also called my office and told my boss i was being sued! i dont have any loans or credit cards and dont owe any money! but like you i too have filled out a form for a small loan recently, online. this is so scary! this creep has all my information! i dont know what to do now. did he use your info for anything? or cause you problems in anyway? you also mentioned your husband is a cop, did he advise you on a specific way to handle this? any info is appreciated...im worried, thanks! victori

ok vsmith I received the same call like your they are scammer that the way the use to scare folks and to give information yea right they say "just to wish you good luck" no collector or investigator tell you things like that my husband is a ex-cop he told me don't sweat that, they just need money, when I answer the phone I answer and saying this is the police dept. they hang-up, so Vsmith don't worry.Don't let them to scare you. ok -

- thanks minerva :) i got pretty angry about the whole incident ( them contacting my boss) and started calling them back incessantly, lol. but they are cowards and thieves and just hung up on me. i was just concerned they might use all the info they had of mine (which was everything) and damage my credit more than it is already :/
