Our first dealings was with Mike Garnea representing World Luxury Destinations. He showed us a fantastic unit that we could use while in Puerto Vallarta. We told him we were not interested because we already had a timeshare that we could not use all the weeks and we had to pay the maintenance fees if we used them or not. Not the right thing to say because of course he could buy this from us and in turn buy from them. In fact as luck would have it, for almost the same amount that they could give us for our timeshare we could buy a repossessed unit. We had to put down though $21,000.00 while they wait for us to get back to the states and fax proof of ownership of our present one and sign a promisory note for $24,100.00, the remainder, while waiting for all of this to processed. We also gave up some of our weeks with World Luxury Destinations because we could not use all of them and they would rent them out for us.
We were then contacted by United Asset Group, Alex Compos and John Morgan, because they had been contacted to list our properties to sell and rent them for us.
Next we were contacted by Terry Velez from Bluesky Management Services out of Farmers Branch, Texas, This agent had gotten this wonderful offer of $65680.00 for our World Luxury Destination rental weeks and $98,725.00 for our first timeshare unit weeks, but we had to wire to Mexico $16655.00 for transfer fee and maintenance fee that of course we would be reimbursed for. Now we were dealing with Stig Helman with A+ Financial Solutions in Chicago, Illinois. This company has control of the purchasers escrow account. Closing of our sale was to be June 11, 2012. Then we get a request that due to Mexico's presidential election, to make everything look better for the present president, he was assessing a tax on our sale. Now we were to wire $28,072.50 which was for "tax and registry of foreign investment." That was wired on June 29, 2012. Closing is set now for July 10 - 12, 2012. I have asked for the statement that the government sent taxing our sale, waiting for that and have left messages for Terry Velez to call me, she has not. I am most certain we have been scammed!
