Shane was selling a Toyota corolla 2003 for $ 4000. When I emailed him saying him that i wanted for details for the car, this is what he replied,
" The vehicle is still available for sale, price as stated in the ad $4000.It's in perfect working order, no wear and tear, no scratches, it wasn't involved in any accidents.I moved to Spain with my work but I left the vehicle at a shipping company in Thunder Bay, Ontario. All shipping costs and insurance during transportation are included in the price, I won a promotion(1 free shipping). You will also receive all necessary documents in order to finalize the purchase.Email me back if you're interested and have further questions". he also included , "Look how this works:

1. I will contact eBay and give all the info about this deal.
2. They will send us the forms by email - for you about the payment.
3. I will send the vehicle to your location and you will send a 50% deposit to eBay.
4. After you will inspect the vehicle and decide to keep it, they will transfer the money into my account.

RETURN POLICY:
If by any reason the vehicle is not as described, or if you find any problems with it I will pay for the returning fees. I'm sure it won't be the case because the vehicle is in excellent condition.
As soon as the vehicle arrives, you will test it and if it does not match 100% to your expectations, you will return it in max. 5 working days since the arrival date. In this case you will send me the vehicle in the same condition you received it.

The estimated time of delivery is 2 to 5 days, with no scratches, it is professionally crated.
Please provide me with your full name and shipping address so I can register the deal with eBay.

I made the payment of $ 1748 and then i got the conformation from ebay saying the payment has been received and I would have to send out the rest of the money of $ 1650 and then they will get the car by 30/06/2012. I emailed mtc # to the email address given that was supposedly belonging to "ebay" and then I emailed shane telling him that the payment has been made and now am waiting for the car.

I decided to check for the name on the google, nothing showed up but when I typed his email address, there were lot of scams and just could not believe that i did not decide to do this before I made the payment out.

  • I just received the very same email from the same guy, but about a 2000 Chevy pick- up truck that was advertised in the Auto Trader as being in Edmonton. Thank you for exposing him by sharing what happened to you. It looks like this guy is a fraud artist! I'm sorry you got ripped off and I pray you will receive justice.

  • I also have dealt with a " shane kellar from Spain ". He sent me a very well faked ebay email to give legitimacy to his vehicle sale. The fake ebay email wanted me to send $7,400 to a private bank in the United Kindom. I saw the impending scam and I have set out to warm people of this. Shane claims his vehicle is in storage in Canada, Thunder bay Ontario. Don't be fooled.
