I began working with Interface in June 2011. I received a proposal 17JUN11 that entailed Installation costs. My representative (E.K.) called me daily until I submitted half of the payment and that was when the problems began. Originally, we were to meet 11JUL11 at 10am he was a no show, I left at 10:15am. We met 12Jul11 to discuss the contract and he assured me that I could cancel without penalty if the location was not approved. At that time I informed him of the deadline again and he told me my installation would be set up in 10 days. He called me 18JUL11 and informed me that I would have to do a monthly ACH. I went and opened an account 19JUL11, called him with the information and he said he would mail the ACH form, to this date I have not received them. I spoke with him 25JUL11 and he wanted additional copies of the drawing that I had already submitted. I was told again that once the drawings are received via email he would begin the process and call within 10 days to set up installation. I spoke with him 29JUL11 and learned that nothing had been worked on because he still had not received the drawings. I asked why was the check processed if no work could be done because he still did not get the plans. I was told that was policy. I resubmitted the drawings via email and informed him again that I had not received the ACH papers that he mailed and give me a call when he has received them. I heard nothing from him until I called 4AUG11 and I informed him that I would like to cancel installation because the facility was not approved and I want a refund of all my monies that were debited 26JUL11. He told me to email that to him because he was not in the office and he would get back to me. I called him 16AUG11 and asked about my refund and he told me he took care of it, he sent it to billing and gave me the number to call and check for myself. I did and was forwarded to (D.O)and was told that this is the first time that someone has cancelled and they had a meeting about this the day before and she was going to call me 16AUG11 but I beat her to the punch. During this conversation I learned that I was going to be charged 5hrs. for engineering which I was unaware of because my representative assured me that if I cancel there would be no penalty. I am livid at the fact that they are charging me hidden fees, so hidden and made-up that my proposal states only 4hrs. I called my representative after speaking with her and told him the situation and he claimed he would check into it, I express to him that I felt he lied to me about a refund of my money and all he could offer was sorry. I spoke with (R.M.) along with (D.O.) 18AUG11 and I was told that I was being charged for 5hrs. of engineering when my proposal says 4hrs and as of 29JUL11 my representative told me that no work had been done because he had not received the drawings via email. It behooves me that I am being charged for anything, especially for more hours than proposed, I was lied to, and they are trying to justify that I defaulted. Default by definition is to neglect, I was not negligent I cancelled, two different actions. In the agreement it states that; Installation charges: Customer agrees to pay Company the sum of $1882.00, plus tax, if applicable, for the installation (and sale if System sold) of the System as follows: $941.00 Upon signing this agreement; $941.00 Upon substantial completion of installation. This statement releases me from the hidden costs mindfully more than what was proposed for the job. I was told I would get a refund less 5hrs of engineering and a copy of drawings that I have absolutely no use for. The contract was breached by charging me hidden fees, calling a cancel a default, and above all, charging more than what was quoted. I will never patronize nor refer anyone because of shady practices. I deserve all of my money back as well as a written apology from my representative for falsely leading me on.
