I noticed a charge for $10.40 that I did not recognize as one I had made. I googled the company's name and found sevearl others had similar charges made to their account. I also found a number (727) 475-5942. I called three times and findally got through. The operator asked for the last four digits of my credit card number to pull up the transaction. She stated that I had placed an order for fishing hooks... ummm... negative!!! She said a credit would be placed and should appear in 2-3 days. She stated her name was Kate. I then went to the bank. Once the charge clears my account, I can go back in and file an affidavit to block the company for that amount. However, the company can still make other charges if the amount being charged differs. Therefore, the best defense is cancelling my ATM debit card... which I am. I am sure that sportdip.com only does smaller amounts in hopes that they will not get noticed. However, I am going to continue on with reporting them in every way that I can in hopes to protect others from possible future scams.
