I have been trying to close my account with this credit card processor (MSI- Merchant Services, Inc.) since late last year when they initiated a $9.99 per month PICC compliance fee. They said I signed a 3 year contract agreeing to an early termination fee of the greater of $250 or $35 / month remaining in the contract. The form I signed does not specify the term period anywhere and I believe they are committing fraud. As of my fax to the company on May 9, 2012 the company had charged 8 months of this fee and I requested I refund of these charges then (as I have for several times). My fax reads, "Once credit is processed and it is agreed that no penalties will be incurred please close my account." Yet, they have now closed my account and are telling me today (6-12-12) they will charge me the $250 fee because my fax requested the account be closed. The total of past charges of $79.92 and anticipated charges of $250 and $9.99 for May 30th statement total $339.91. I have sent multiple requests by fax and had numerous phone calls into this company yet they can't supply me with documentation on a form I signed that says the contract period is 3 years. The independent sales rep was from USA eGlobal and they also gave me incorrect information as to other "fees" that have been resolved after much effort on my part. Mary Frye of HFIA (Home Furnishings Independents Association) is aware of the problems other merchants also had with this processor and sales company and ultimately realigned with a different credit card processor.
