I received a letter from All State Law Group about a mortgage modification in April 2011. I called the number in the letter, gave them preliminary information and they told me "you definitely would qualify for a modification". At that time, I did not know it is illegal for a company to collect up-front fees for a modification. I paid All State $3500.00 in two payments. They did not answer calls, and on the rare occasion they did, I could never speak to the same person or get any straight answers about what they were doing for me. They advised me to get two months behind in my mortgage payments, which obviously had a negative impact on my crdit score. Prior to that it was excellent. I never received a modification and have been unsuccessful in getting my money refunded. This is criminal!

  • By the way, they go by numerous variations of the name. It was State Law Group for me and if you look at their email addresses for the same contact, it changes but the address you have logged is the same as one I was dealing with.
