I went on line to obtain a new Social Security Card. A form came up and look like the one I would have completed if I had went down to the Social Security Office. I provided my Master Card number and all my personal identification including mother maiden name. The request was made for copy of original birthcertificate and drivers license. Instead of providing these I went down and waited at the Social Security office so they could make copies of the requested docoments. At this time I was advised that I had been scammed as I don't have to pay for a new card. The female that was assisting me looked at the completed document that I had completed and Printed out for my reference. The only difference between the on-line con job and the Federal Governments was, the Federal Govennment has a form number on the botton to identify the document being used. I came back and immediately attempted to contacty "simplyfiling.com" and cancel my master card and was not succesful as it showed up on my statement as being paid out. I will attempt to recover from my Master Card but have no other idea how to prevent these people from continually scamming others. The web site shows that over 1,238,442,324.51 have been scammed from unspecting individuals. Surely there is a fedral offense somewhere that the Attorney general can stop this.
