I received a cheque from Rogers Group of Companies in the amount of $3,998.98 yesterday in the mail. Yes, the cheque did look legit. They said the same thing, to shop at best buy, walmart, jc penny, sears, kmart, spend 100 and fax reciepts. Same thing with the money orders, to use Western Union/Money gram and to send two of them to some one in Aberdeen nj. one for 1700 and the other for 1498.98. I personally refuse to send someone i don't know money. So, I did the following in hopes of helping others so they dont become the victim of this scam.

1. I contacted the police in my city and gave them the letter/cheque that i recieved in the mail, after i googled mystery shopper and saw all the complaints. I was informed that the Rogers logo is fraudulent by police.

2. I then contacted Rogers and told them of this situation. They had no idea and thanked me for calling them to let them know. I explained their logo was on the cheque.

3. Then i contacted TD bank in Don Mills Ontario as that was the bank and address on the cheque. They had no idea either of this scam and thanked me for letting them know.

I am glad i didn't become a victim and lose money. If it sounds and looks to good to be true, it usually isn't.
