Signed up in March for one month on Match.com for $39.99. They charged me the same amount again in April. I called to complain and get a refund. They will not issue a refund, stating that their contract specifically states an automatic renewal will take place ("so members don't have a lapse in access") unless the member cancels the contract online.

When I spoke with customer service, I stated that if I'd wanted multiple months of service, I could have signed up at the lower rate. I only wanted to buy one month, that's why I chose the one month fee. But no, apparently in their "small type" there is a block that one must notice, that says they will auto bill your credit card again and again and again unless you specifically go into the site at the end of your contracted period and stop the contract, so they do not re-bill automatically. THIS IS A SCAM!
