I was looking for a laptop and found BidRate.com in a Google search. I looked at their site, could not get to far into it without doing a FREE registration. It would not let me complete registration until I filled out the credit card information. I did not see anything saying they would charge my account on that page nor in the terms and conditions. Once I got into the site, I found that the bids reset every 10 seconds and the price kept raising 1 penny. I didn't like the way it ran the bids so I removed my credit card info and my address from my profile and logged out. Later during the morning I went to my bank online and discovered that my credit card balance was wrong. I called the 800 number for my bank and they said that BidRate had a hold for $99 until the 26 of June. I was so angry! I called the BidRate customer service number and the woman sent me an email which had info to enter on the refund website that a link took me to. After filling out that info, it sent me another email stating that the refund was denied because they have a no refund policy.

Where in your policy does it state that you would charge me $99.00. I would like it in writing. It is not anywhere on the internet web page that I applied on. Please email me where it can be found as I cannot find it.

Bidrack Refund Dept

I followed instructions. I don't know what will happen. I will call my bank tomorrow. I found so many reports with the BBB online. Unbelievable! They also have listed BidRate as Nomorerack Retail Group from Vancouver, BC. Their address in Vancouver is the same as Mail Boxes Etc. who have a phone number listed (604)731-1048.

Update: 06/30/2011

The Deleware BBB just contacted me thru email. Bidrack is going to refund the $99 they charged on my card.

  • I inadvertantly typed BidRate instead of BidRack. It is BidRack and I cannot change this but am posting this as a correction.
