I received a text:

"FreeMSG: >>>ENTER PIN=7728<<< Now 4 ur chance 2WIN a Dell Laptop! Once off purchase of £18.00 per entry. Reply HELP4help 08000988456"

I didn't reply to this text, just ignored it. I then received 4 texts one after another within seconds of receiving the first one reading:

"prizeKing - Thank you, you have purchased 1 entry into the prizeKing Click2Win competition! You have been charged £4.50. Help? 0800 098 8456"

I called the number provided for 'help'. I was told that the operator was unable to help me as he didn't have any access to any of my account information. He can only cancel my account...I obviously asked for my account to be terminated. I was given an email address to contact: [email protected]

I googled prizeKing and looked up their to contact their Customer Service Team? Please see below for details:

I have emailed both addresses and received the following emails:

Hotmail informs me that both emails look, "very suspicious to our SmartScreen filters, so we've blocked attachments, pictures, and links for your safety."

  • Just got a similar issue to win an Ipad. I made the mistake to enter my phone number online and then received 2 text messages charged £4.50 each !
    They came from PrizeKing too.

  • This has just happened to me. I was browsing a job searching webpage and when i clicked on Branch location I was taken to a survey page to win an iPad. I genuinely believed this was part of the website and entered my mobile number. Within seconds I had received 5 messages entering me for this and that at a cost of £4.50 each. Im on a job searching website for a reason!!! I texted the word stop twice and then tried to call but was in a queue for ages so emailed them. No response so far.

  • I managed to reach them yesterday so that they take me off their list, which they apparently and hopefully did (uk number) I would suggest to try and call them again as according to my mobile phone operator, they will keep sending texts otherwise.
I am thinking about starting a petition against these premium texts, it should not be allowed to be charged to receive texts ! What gets me is that this company is a proper one and everything they do might be legal , that is crazy
