Complaint 110429 Details

I received a letter from GRT Consumer Research & Management Inc. 1204 NE 8th Street, Gresham, OR, 97030 USA, and a check in the amount of $1,994.36, drawn on US Bank, the name on the check was GRT Net Services, INC, same address as alleged business on letterhead. I was supposed to call within 48-hours to get it authorized and when I phoned the number listed which was 647-537-3280, a man answered and told me I needed to deposit the check into my account and then phone him back for further instructions as to where I was to send $1,530 via Western Union, allegedly as a "Customer Service Evaluator", also I was instructed to use $30 of the money to make purchases at Wal Mart and JC Penny or Kmart, and fax the form letter sent to me back with the receipts from the businesses including Western Union to the following fax number 419-745-5555. I became aware of this scam by searching the web for the fax number when the fax number brought me here and I found a complaint same as mine under different name for the exact same scam. I have not deposited the check into my bank and will not thanks to the information obtained on this website.
