After exchanging emails with Venessa about leasing an apartment from her I wired a $500 security deposit to a bank account in Huntsville, AL. The bank account was under the name Clay D. Howard. Venessa said she was part of a UNICEF program in AL and could not find a realtor to handle the lease before she left. She promised to send keys and a lease agreement upon receipt of the security deposit.
After wiring the deposit I received an email from another apartment I was interested in only to find the exact same wording (and some of the same pictures) in the emails I had exchanged with Venessa. I emailed her to tell her I would no longer be renting the apartment and would like the security deposit back as promised. I have not heard back from her.

- I just found a similar scam this week using the name Clay D Howard, luckily I was familiar with the address they provided in the e-mail and it red flagged it for me. This person is using the address of our retirement community and when I Googled his name this posting popped up. I have since reported the post to Craigslist.
