In reviewing my electronic bank statement, I discovered an e-check debit for 29.95. When I pulled up the image of the check, I discovered it was made payable to the Alliance Network. Printed on the check was an 877 number one could call in case of questions about the payment. I called the number and asked what the debit was for. The receptionist advised that the check was from Demi Box for a monthly on-line subscription. I replied I had never heard of Demi Box, nor had I authorized the payment. The receptionist then asked if this had been a mistake. When I said yes, she cancelled the payment and processed a refund. I will review this with the bank tomorrow to ensure they will not authorize any further payments to this account.
