I was trying to purchase a semi-truck (2005 Freightliner) from a local dealership in Salt Lake City Utah. After submitting my finance application to the dealership the finance officer from the dealership send the application to various finance companies. A few days later I received a call from a man named Robert. He informed me that he worked for National Loan Options, Inc. and that I have been approved for $34,000 dollars (the cost of the truck). He asked me if I was interested on receiving the loan from them and email me a leased agreement contract. I then contact the dealership and ask them if they had submitted my application to National Loan Options. The dealership told me that they had, however, they had not heard from them (this should have been my first red flag) but I was too excited to buy another truck for my company that I didn’t noticed. I called Robert again and ask him what I needed to do to start the loan process. He told me that I needed to sign a leased agreement that was going to be emailed to me and that I needed to send him a check (down payment) for $6,000 dollars. Stupid me signed the leased agreement and mailed him a personal check. However, I was lucky enough to have a good sales person who noticed that something was not right because this company was not talking to their finance office at all. I then looked up the companies information online and saw that someone else had a previous complain on them on this website for something similar. Immediately I put a stop to the personal check and contact my bank and the dealership. I then called Robert and told him that I felt unsecure and asked him if he could contact the dealership finance office so we could do the transaction thru them. He said it was ok with him and that he was going to call the dealership. Well it’s been almost two months and he has not called them. I try calling him, but he doesn’t answer my calls anymore. My recommendation is- STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!
