This has happened to me on04/24/2012 .I have been watching the Salad Chef commercials, which clearly show a salad spinner (for spinning excess moisture off salad greens), a blade for making long slices (such as sliced tomato rings, slicing hard boiled eggs, making potato "rounds" such as one might use for potatoes au gratin), and a blade with small grids for chopping veggies, in addition to a snap-on lid, the "chopping" lid, the bowl, a large chunk blade, a medium chunk blade and a shredder. The package that I bought contained exactly what it portrayed (the salad bowl, storage lid, the "chopping" top, the large chunk blade, a medium blade, and the shredding "blade"). There was no deceit in these contents (and they work well). What was misleading, was the TV commercial which showed the salad spinner, the long slicer, and the tiny slicing blades, visually (not verbally) implying that these were add-on items which one could purchase separately. When I tried to purchase these extra pieces on the web, I could only find them in the 6" length...for the larger Salad Chef. My Salad Chef requires shorter blades of a little over 5" in length. At the time of purchase, I was not aware that Salad Chef came in two sizes. I would love to see Salad Chef sell the appropriate size blades and spinner that are not included with the standard (smaller) size unit. I reiterate: The Salad Chef is a big time-saver. This is not an inexpensiver purchase. It does seem to be very well made and quite sturdy. It is easy to use and does a good job. I like the unit...it is efficient...but the major reason that I purchased it was to have everything that I needed for chopping salads and veggies into a variety of sizes in one easily stored unit, as I have a small kitchen. A larger Salad Chef would take up more of my limited storage space. I feel more disappointed than scammed (because I can't purchase the extra blades, in the right size, at a reasonable price, including shipping and handling).
