  • In my case, someone by the name of Kelly McCall got in touch with me about Samsung Galaxy S2 (Unlocked) for $200.00. i checked online for reviews and fortunately decided not to make those payments. What makes it easier for everyone to notice that this is a scam is as follows:

    1. The person will only reply your email once in a day, even you reply to their email within minutes of receiving.
    2. So call safe method using ParcelFriend payment. If this was a legit people, payment options probably would have been on their official website using credit card or something like.
    3. On the contrary, the invoice asks you to make a payment using Western Union and that too not to "ParcelFriend' but the "agent" inspected those items. To top it of, the emphasize on the invoice that it has to be cash payment and not online.

    Last but not least, and probably the most obvious of all, the repetition of common language used for trying to scam other as well. Below are a few lines that were the same as the ones that the unfortunate person wanting to buy iMac got.

    "hi my name is ... and i am in Toronto now.

    i have attached pictures of ... under warranty and perfect shape.

    i hope you like it and you wish to buy it:)"

    Please be careful everyone. I almost fell for this scam!!

  • I am going to share this website with all of my contacts!
    Unfortunately I emailed and was interested in the iPad. You get what you pay for.....I only got as far as giving the address to send the item and then decided to look up parcel friend.
    I've learned my lesson, too good to be true...probably a scam. Thanks Scambook!

  • I also thank you for the post. This is the exact reply I received. What roused my suspicions was that my friend and I had both emailed her and received an identical reply, about Toronto, then next day she re-listed the exact ad with "cash only" at the bottom. Then I started checking. Her name didn't pop but the Parcelfriend did.

  • Thanks for the post on the Mini Ipad. I was interested in a similar one,but the person had a different email and name. Probably part of the scam.

    I'm getting back to you about the iPad mini with 64GB I'm selling on Craigslist.

    I'm Denise and I'm now in Toronto.
    I've attached pictures of my iPad to this email. It's brand new, WIFI + 4G, factory unlocked and under Apple warranty.
    I hope you like it and you wish to buy it :)

    I'll have to send it from here. I have found a company called ParcelFriend that will deliver the ipad to you in the US and allow you to check the ipad before I receive the payment. You will be in control of your money and I will be in control of my ipad.
    I will use 5 day delivery and I will take care of the shipping fee.
    Please have a look at their procedure and we will go from there.
