Are you claiming that the Amazon packages these filters came in, are imitation (counterfeit) Doulton Water Filter boxes?
http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=doulton+filter&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=4030970801&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1908571192589147866&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&ref=pd_sl_7uspvl6sve_b
I was wrong about one of my claims above: I received the Doulton water filters, with free shipping from Amazon, in 2-days, not 3-days (and I didn't have to wait through 32 days of baseless, false excuses like I did with you).
Furthermore, if you re-read the entire string of comments in this complaint, it becomes apparent that trusting you was the only mistake I made.
I thought this complaint was closed, James, but your vain attempt to defend your indefensible acts has reactivated it.
I wonder how Amazon will react to your allegations of them selling "cheap imitation" products. Are you also claiming that Amazon packages these filters in imitation (counterfeit?) Doulton Water Filter boxes?
I don't know how James McCanney could define this horribly failed transaction as an error. My purchase was made on 3/7/13, and was not corrected until now (32 days later). Even McCanney’s responses to my complaint were shown to be disingenuous excuses.
I'm also happy to state that Amazon not only provided the same water filters for $19 less than McCanney, but Amazon also delivered the product to my house in 3-days (with free shipping)--shame on me for not shopping around for a reliable distributor.
I also wish to thank scambook.com for their superb handling of my complaint. At least I know where to go if I get burned by another on-line merchant.
1. Mr. McCanney did contact me by phone on 3/22/13 to apologize for his delay on sending my order, and also said he had computer problems. He stated that 'he has processed my order'... but to date I have not received any notice of shipment, nor to date, delivery of items purchased/paid for on 3/7/13.
2) Mr. McCanney stated above that: '...we have recently pulled some items from the sales page as we cannot keep them stocked...’. However, the water filters I ordered one month ago, on 3/7/13, are still listed on his website (http://www.jmccanneyscience.com/SecWebOrderPg.htm), and they were also listed there before and after 3/7/13.
3) Mr. McCanney states above: ‘...if customers complain we gladly refund their money instantly...'. Well then, Mr. McCanney, consider this posting (which will also be emailed to you) as my FORMAL CUSTOMER COMPLAINT. PLEASE GLADLY REFUND MY MONEY TO MY CREDIT CARD, IMMEDIATELY!
I find Mr. McCanney's sales posturing above to be a typical example of his character. Only he would be bold enough to plug his book sales on a complaint forum. Almost everything sold on his website (except his books) is cheaper at Amazon anyway.
I had also intended to purchase his e-books; however, considering his current sales tactics and that James McCanney has seemingly dropping off the edge of the Earth, I suspect fraud.
I would be intersted to hear if anyone else has been stung by this guy.
