Several weeks ago I received a phone call from a Mr. James Smith, his identity as a New York detective; bag #3046. He was located in Kingston, Jamaica and his phone # was 876-442-4367. He told me I had won 2.7 million dollars and a 2011 Mercedes Benz, He told me all I had to do was to buy a money order for $199.00. I said no and that I wasn't sending money to get money but he continued to call and tell me it was legit. He wanted to send a wire transfer in the amount of $199.00 to one of the claims officer giving me the name of first, Charles Race, 4610 Ontario Street, Ex, Canandaigua, N. Y 14424. I kept telling I couldn't and he keep calling. Next he said the money to Romaine Benton, 298 Western Ave.; Kingston, Jamaica. I still refuse to send the money; finally he said I could send it to the USA to Mr. William Harmer, 1222 Heatherdown, AK 72653. By sending this I would have a 10 digit number which he described as being my lotto ticket and that it would be on the envelope and that number and my number would match. Just to get him off my back, I sent the money to Mr. William Harmer. When he got the numbers he said my delivery would be from Fed Ex in about 45 minutes coming from Montgomery, Al. First he called and said I needed to send $ 499.00 for some sort of insurance. I told him no way and he still calls and he said I could send half ( $ 248.00) and it would be immediately sent back to me after he called and made sure I did the wire transfer. I even had him to call my son ( which he did and got his voice mail) and explain it to him. He's still calling and said he contact person was John Travis (know him?) Now he said he would call back Monday. HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sorry to say that is the oldest lottery scam that has been around for a while. there ae few rules to determine that this is a scam:
1- You don't win a lottery that you did not enter.
2- no ligitimate lottery operator will ask you to wire money to claim a winning and certainly not for insurance.
3- if something sounds to good to be true it probably is.
