No damage has occurred except to upset, confuse and potentially victimize, defraud and rob a 91 year-old woman with incipient dementia who would see their solicitation for a publication, in this case the Washington Post, as the BILLING IT IS DESIGNED to BE MISTAKEN FOR FOR -- AND THIS TIME THE AMOUNT WAS $599.95! ($599.95--That's over ten times the paper's usual cost!) We get these "offers" --BILLS!-- from these scum regularly --it's extremely alarming to my my mother, who thinks she OWES that amount. I have called these frauds in the past to request that they remove us from their mailing list. But the fake bills keep coming--for various magazines, some of which she has subscribed to in the past or currently receives. As you can tell, I am hopping mad about this most recent attempt to defraud a poor old lady. How many lack someone to run interference for them? ...Well, enough to keep the jackals in business...I'd like to see them tarred and feathered and run out of town. Which, incidentally, is White City, Oregon--PO Box 2489. Their telephone # is 1-707-266-6673. Thank you very much.
Oh! The notice says the scammer's email must be valid...maybe that's why no complaints have gone through. As listed on the fake bill, it is : [email protected]. For credit card payment it says to go to: www.publisherspayment.com. That's the best I can do.
