Default yellow springbok fast house purchase
Has anyone had any dealings with 'Yellow Springbok' fast house purchasers, Good or Bad?

Searched the net and most surprised to find it devoid of comments outside their own sites.

Not had dealings with these in particular but generally those buy quick people will offer way below market value and then drop the price again just before exchange. If you do a search on here you will find similar threads which might help.

There are some good crooks in life and there are some bad crooks in life but one thing they all have in common is.......
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Devoid of comments, perhaps, because they set up a new company every so often when internet comment becomes too negative?

Didn't rip off Britain have a whole episode on the buy it quick house sale companies?

Don't think that this company was mentioned ( sorry can not remember )in particular but they seemed to be not a fan of the whole practice. I would steer clear if you can.
Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!

Sorry, we haven't really made it clear: there are no quick sale companies that any regular contributor to this forum would endorse in any way. Avoid!

No worries, but you'd be surprised how many company reps sign up here to post a random "What do you think of ...." , to promote their own company or website!

In response to you question, I have yet to find a "quick buy" company that anyone would recommend, but guess they have their place, if you are desperate for a guaranteed, hassle free sale at greatly reduced price.

Let's start with the basics:

They're a fast sale house buyer, so it depends what you're looking for. The industry works around quick sales for people who need the cash desperately - you basically give them a big discount (30% or so, at a guess) in exchange for a very quick completion (10-30 days).

They have over 1,000 properties listed on their site. They rank really well (1st in Manchester, 46th in UK) on allagents, which I assume is a reasonably neutral opinion forum: http://www.allagents.co.uk/springbok-properties/

So, some simple truths:

If you want a decent price for your house, don't use a fast cash buyer.
If you don't need to sell quickly, don't use a fast cash buyer.
If you are in dire trouble and selling your home at a discount will solve the problem, fast buyers are an option. Not necessarily the BEST option, but an option.

And now for the opinion, which you can take with a pinch or a small continent of salt, as you desire.

Background: I happen to have done a lot of work for YS in the past - not in real estate but in web content and so on. I'm freelance, so have no company loyalty to them or suchlike.

The guy who owns and runs it is surprisingly honest and a really nice chap, and that's coming from someone who hesitated at taking any work from him because I assumed it would be scumbag scam.

As far as I can see, YS is honest. Yes, they will want a discount for a fast sale (that's what they do, after all), but if you say "no", they won't push or try to cheat you. In the end, it's your choice and they seem to do the best they can to help people in dire circumstances. The only pressure you will get from them is to complete quickly, because that's what they do.

I have no personal experience of using them for a sale, but I have seen their internal documents and can honestly say that there's none of the mean, nasty stuff you would expect (especially if you're as cynical as me). Caveat: YS is also a franchise, so you might run into less pleasant people where you are - but if you do, the owner will come down on them like a ton of bricks if they're scammy and horrid.

Take that as you will: feel free to disbelieve it or question it. Just figured you might like a view from someone who edited their operations manual, among other things.

(And no, I won't reveal any internal stuff beyond a general opinion. That would be a serious breach of confidence.)
