At Pearson Airport Toronto ON I was trying to get hold of my daughter to let her know I landed safely. Having returned from Europe I had no Canadian currency handy. It took three phone calls, home phone, cell phone and partner's cell phone, leaving a message on each. My credit card was billed $13.98 for each call, of no more than 2 minutes. The distance is about 90 miles from Toronto to Woodstock. The cost should have been no more than $6.00.
It is a harsh lesson to make sure to have a cell phone with me.
