We attended a children's event early in 2011 and were given this free night stay at georgian manor. The initial deposit was to be $40, which was to be refunded to us once we checked in. We were told we had to attend this presentation while there.
We put it off for months til finally we ended up going in September 2011.
During this presentation we were told many false things about how we needed this. After the initial salesperson wasn't able to hook us, other sales people and management were brought in. Finally we gave in after a few drinks. Pretty much because we didnt agree while sober they got us tipsy to get us to agree to trying it out for a year.
We tried cancelling after reading through the folder we were given but were advised to wait til we got our rci logins as we had a year not 10 days.
The rci login took well over a month, and we called trying to get answers from rci as we had a feeling that the ppl are rhg were not telling us the truth. We were told we had to wait til we got our login. Once we got that login, we knew for sure it was all a lie. Then we started researching and found many others were scammed also.
We just wanted this nightmare to end and have paid the 12000 cost in full and now are stuck with yearly membership costs of over 600 between rci and the rhg.
I welcome any help in cancelling this and getting even some of our money back.
