At approximately 10:45 a.m. yesterday, May 29th 2014, a man claiming to b a Mark Walter called me from this number (202)657-4335 saying that he works for the U.S. government and that i have been selected to recieve a 7,000 dollar grant from the government and that all i had to do is go to a store and purchase a greendot paper kit and load it with $260, that would b refunded back to me along with the grant. and remain on the line with them while i do this and so i proceeded to Walgreens and purchased the moneypak and this so called Mark tells me to scratch off tha gray panel and read him the pin. So, i did. Then he places me on hold for almost 30 minutes after he tells me this transaction he had to do was supposed to take about 10 minutes and then the phone hangs up. And so i called back and he apologizes saying, that they were having technical difficulties and that were other people in line in front of me waiting to collect their grants as well. So i bought that and he told me to hold again, so i did. This time it was almost 45 minutes i was placed on hold before this Mark guy gets back on and tells me the transaction is complete and he gave me this number (202) 657-5808 saying that this was the number to the bank that held the money that is reserved for me to collect. So i called this number and a man claiming the name David V (i dont know the spelling of his last name) told me to purchase another greendot moneypak and load $750, that would be refundable back to me along with the grant. I told him i had jus purchased one and loaded $260 and was told i would collect my monies after. He said my state was charging $750 to complete this large transaction because my state is not a tax free state. I said i dont have $750 and can i get my $260 back and he said I couldnt. It was then i knew i had been scammed.
