I logged onto USPS.COM to change my address. I've used the website before to do a change of address and I know their policy is to charge $1 to verify your identity. I went through the process like I gave in the past. The following week I noticed a charge to my account from United Address Change for $39.99. I called the 800 number that showed up on my transaction and I was shocked to hear it was the United States Post Office. I asked them how they got my information and what they charged me for and the man on the phone "Manuel" insisted I went to their website and filled out their application and that they couldn't give me my money back because they had already provided services to me. After much arguing and him trying to adjust the price for me many times I finally convinced him that it would be in the companies best interest to refund all of my money because I know they're a scam and I was contacting my bank as well as the real USPS. Most of my questions on the company he avoided or danced around the answer. Such as when I asked them what their web address was he just kept telling me the name of their company and not an actual website and when I asked if they were affiliated with the real post office he just wouldn't answer. I've yet to get my refund but I am letting my bank deal with it further to see what happens.
