I am pretty certain that they put up a fake web site under the name of Real Player dot com. I had been using it to download my favorite videos and was thinking I would like to get the better version that seemed to be on a cyber Monday special or so it appeared on the fake web page. So I clicked on the purchase and went through with the sale as advertised. The next day or so I checked my online banking statement and there was a charge for $29.99 followed by a $1.00 to the HELPREAL.COM company. I was not sure of the charge and so I called a banker to supply a phone number for the company. They did not have one so I decided to investigate it myself by doing a web search. I put in HELPREAL.COM and got a list and chose the top one and it immediately came up with the following:
"We are not affiliated with the previous owners of HelpReal.com and we did not charge your credit card."
"If you are seeing a charge from HelpReal.com on your credit card statement you should call your credit card company and dispute the charge. Tell them that you did not authorize the transaction"
I immediately called the bank again to file a complaint.
