My problem is the subscription of Countrywide Periodicals.
This company called me in May or June 2013 and I was told that I was entered into the preferred subscriber drawing for 1 million dollars because I had a credit card. They stated they would send me a watch, enter me into the drawing and then also i would get 3 free magazine subscriptions. I was unwary enough to provide them my credit card number. In the very end of conversation they told me it would only be small monthly payment to pay. It seems me now, that the man I told with, say the sum knowingly indecipherable to let me chance think it is sixteen not sixty. I agreed. Some day later I saw that my credit card had pending transaction for about 60 dollars. At that time I began to understand that it cannot be honest business. Couple day later I got the mail letter from them with offer to choose the watch, there was their phone number in this letter. I made phone call to Countrywide Periodicals Inc. and cancel the subscription. Literally I told with a man who said that the subscription was canceled. I started to relax, but too early.
I saw strange transaction on me and my and my wife credit card account, but I thought it my wife purchases and name of the company doesn’t seems me familiar until last Friday. In this day I understand, that they not only charged my account for magazines but charge additional small amounts of money (from 1 to 10 dollars) every month.
When I understood that the subscription was not canceled. I tried to call the Countrywide Periodicals and cancel it again. I saw on your site that under Montana state code 30-14-1410 - Disclosure that in the case of a sale made by telephone, the buyer may cancel the sale at any time prior to signing an agreement or offer to purchase the goods or services. I did not signed any document for the Countrywide Periodical, so I called to them again, and sad I’d like to cancel the subscription, but the woman I spoke with refused to make this cancellation because of company policy do not cancel subscription after 5 day from offer.
The question is, have I right to cancel this subscription because
a) I tried to cancel the subscription in the very beginning
b) I did not sign any papers for Countrywide Periodical
c) I very dissatisfied with magazines I got, really I was thinking it was the spam.
