Received most likely the same check in the mail as all the others. Amounts were the same, and the instructions were the same: Do not cash the check until you make the call. I'm not sure how they benefit from the scam, but it is well prepared. There are grammar mistakes in the intro letter, but the check for $3875 appears to be an authentic check. It comes complete with watermarks, and when holding to the light you can see many of the normal security features of most of today's checks.
Definitely do not cash these checks. I've heard of this type of scam before, but it is unclear to me how the fake company makes money from this scam after the deposit is made.
