Fake AI trading platforms

"Our AI trades for you — guaranteed 2% daily." The AI is the bait; the platform is the scam.

The pitch rides the AI wave perfectly: a proprietary trading bot, quantum-this and machine-learning-that, makes money while you sleep — guaranteed 2% a day, no experience needed. The dashboard shows it working: your deposit grows daily, every trade a winner.

There is no bot. The dashboard is a web page displaying numbers the operator typed. 'AI trading' is simply the current costume of the oldest investment fraud there is — the guaranteed-return scheme — and its promise is the giveaway: real markets cannot guarantee returns, and real AI doesn't change that.

How the scam works

1
The AI mystique
Marketing leans on unverifiable technology claims — proprietary algorithms, 'institutional AI', backtested win rates. The complexity is the point: you can't audit it, so you're asked to trust it.
2
The frictionless start
Small minimum deposit, slick app, instant 'trades' appearing. Often a referral from a friend who's 'withdrawing profits' (early users can withdraw — recruitment is worth the cost) or from a romance/wrong-number contact.
3
The fictional compounding
Your balance grows on schedule because it's fiction. Account managers coach you to add more, upgrade tiers, invite family.
4
The exit wall
Large withdrawal requests meet 'taxes', 'liquidity fees', and 'account audits' — each requiring fresh deposits. Then the platform rebrands and the same operators relaunch under a new name.

Red flags to watch for

!
Guaranteed or fixed daily returns
2% daily is over 137,000% a year. No trading system in history does this. Arithmetic is the fastest scam detector ever built.
!
The AI can't be verified
No audited track record, no regulatory registration, no named team with checkable histories — just claims. Real funds are boring and documented; scams are exciting and vague.
!
Deposits by crypto to a 'platform'
Real brokerages are regulated entities you can look up (in the US: FINRA BrokerCheck, SEC registration). A trading site that onboards you via crypto transfer to a wallet is a donation box.
!
Withdrawal fees payable in advance
Legitimate platforms deduct fees from your balance. Only scams need new money to release old money — because the old money is gone.
!
Recruitment rewards
Referral bonuses for bringing in friends and family make you the scam's distribution channel. Real investment funds don't run like multi-level marketing.

What to do

Run the registration check first
Before any deposit: is the platform registered with the SEC or CFTC? Is the broker on FINRA BrokerCheck? Check the CFTC RED List of known fraudulent foreign entities. Five minutes, and it settles most cases.
Apply the guarantee test
Any 'guaranteed', 'fixed', or 'risk-free' return language disqualifies the platform instantly, whatever the technology story. This test has no false positives.
Never pay to withdraw
The moment a withdrawal requires a deposit, you have full information: the balance is fiction. Every further payment is a pure loss.
If you're in one
Stop deposits, document everything (URLs, wallet addresses, transactions, chats), report to ic3.gov, the SEC, and reportfraud.ftc.gov, and warn anyone you referred — breaking the recruitment chain limits the damage.

Frequently asked questions

Aren't there real AI trading tools?
Yes — algorithmic trading is a real, regulated industry. Real tools come from registered brokerages, never guarantee returns, prominently disclose risk, and don't recruit via DMs and referral bonuses. The technology isn't the scam signal; the guarantee and the unverifiability are.
I withdrew profits once. Doesn't that prove it's real?
No — honoring small early withdrawals is a deliberate customer-acquisition cost, the same mechanism pig-butchering platforms use. It's the trap's spring, not evidence of solvency.
The platform shows live trades matching real market prices. How?
Displaying real market data next to fake account balances is trivial web development. The prices are real; the claim that your money is trading on them is not.
