A man and a woman came knocking on my mom's door (who by the way lives alone) late on a Saturday night asking if she would be interested in purchasing any magazines. They both gave her a hard luck story so i guess she would feel sorry for them as to why they needed the extra money. They talked her into buying 2 magazines and wrote them out 2 checks. One for $30 and the other for $22. After giving them her information and completing the sales receipt they handed it back to her and told her she would have to mail it in to the address on the sales receipt neglecting to mention there was an additional fee involved. After they had left she got to looking at the paperwork closer and noticed what else needed to be done which they had failed to tell her. Feeling foolish and embarassed she realized she had just been scammed. The following day she called her bank to put a stop payment on both checks.
