I applied for a job in Oregon the posting was this on craigslist:

"We are a small home based business, I need someone for payables and recievables, e-mail design and blast, customer service, product advertising and marketing, web page management/updating some accounting, Quick books experiance and anything else I or you can think of. I need a team player, must be self motivated, no smoke or drugs, I test everyone. im looking to start part time and if works out posible fulltime. please do not just send a resume by it self I will delete without consideration"

emailed the position and got this reply:

Hello,

We would like to thank you for sending your resume to Pearson Recruitment & Partners. After reviewing your initial credentials, I think you could possibly be a great fit for our company.

Our Human Resource manager would like to schedule an interview with you before she leaves for vacation early next week. You need to complete the pre-interview screening before we can schedule an interview, which can be found at http://work-at-pearson.info or the career link on our homepage. Your applicant code is 282975.

Please write down your code, as that is the only way you can gain access to your application and employee profile. Once you complete your screening someone from HR will contact you within 72 hours to schedule an interview.

Respectfully

They have you fill out all these things and then expect a credit report costumer #. I called credit report, the costumer # is not enough to steal your identity but if they got your social it would be. Started looking on this website and saw several reports of the identical email in different cities in the US. so i got sketched and looked on the website of the company : http://www.pearson-recruitment.com/ it look alright until you click around and realize most of the links on the website are broken or under construction. for a big company that the website says it is, thats not right. Also the ad said a small home business not a international bank provider for rich clients in Belize. Wrote an email back asking questions on where the company was located to see if its legitimate, but I don't think so. Will post more if i got a reply.

  • Have since received several other "job offers" with similar scams and money/payday offers on my phone, the number for it was on my resume
