I received a phone call out of the blue one afternoon from a gentleman who identified himself as "David Walker" (#43441). He began to tell me that since my credit was in such good standing, I qualified for an offer that would lower my interest rates by "as much as 12%" When I said I was interested in hearing more, he switched me over to "Pamela" who told me this was a limited-time offer for those who had kept there credit in good standing throughout the economic crisis. I told her that this all sounds too good to be true and that you guys will do all of this for free?? (There had been no mention of price this entire half hour conversation) She said that there would be a charge of $998.95 on to a credit that I was trying to pay off, but when I see my lowered rates, the fee will pay itself. I have been struggling with credit card debt for about 6 years now, and even though this was pricey, I knew it would be worth it in the long run. I felt really good about my decision to finally get rid of my debt once and for all. When the package arrived, I was disheartened to learn that DVDs were actually CDs! CDs loaded with information that anyone can find on the internet with a google search of "how to save money." Nonetheless, I filled out my paperwork and returned it. Then I was to wait for my "financial adviser" to call me. He/She has never called. I've been waiting for three weeks, and have called them repeatedly. From what I have been reading on this site, that call would not have mattered much anyway. Its unbelievable to think that in this time of economic peril, a company would prey on people in debt, only to put them further in debt, without any other positive intent.
