My mother received a call from SMG stating that her medicare would was going to be cancelled she is 91. After a long conversation she told the person on the phone that she was not interested and hung up about a week later she got a call from her bank asking if she had given authorization too pay an electronic check for the amount of $448.74 the bank had already put the payment on hold when my mother told the bank that she did not authorize the payment the bank put a stop payment on it 3 days later she received in the mail an invoice stating that the money was going to be with drawn from her account and that her benefits package would be mailed to her shortly. There is no name on the envelop or paperwork it is a 3rd party customer service company who is in charge of collecting the money. I was fortunate to call the phone number that was listed and made sure that the transaction was cancelled. My mother was lucky that she was able to recover her money. I have contacted the better business bureau and notified them as well. This is just a giant scam.
