Receaved a letter from Great Lakes Bottled Water Co. from Walker, Mi stating I had won a 150,000.00 lottery, and a check for 3,980.00 was for the taxes which had to be deducted from the winnings before I could receave the balance that they may pay the US taxes on the winnings. The check was written on Chemical Bank of Evart, Mi. I was advised not to use the check until I called, as well as to keep the winnings confidential until my claim had been processed and my chas was remitted to me as this was part of the security protocol, to avoid double claiming or unscrupulous acts by non participants taking advantage of this program. They also stated the psole purpose of the check is for the payment of applicable Government Taxes on my gib winnings. Government taxes cannot be deducted from the winning amount because of the insurance policy coverage. The (claim agent) is Michael Dundas, phone # 1-289-892-0011. I was repeatedly asked not to say anything until I had contacted this Michael to claim the prize. There is a web address for Great Lakes, as well as local phone # in the state of Michigan of 616-975-0733. the business is the same listed on the check. I also checked out the bank the check is written on Chemical Bank in Evart, Mi, with a phone # of 231-734-5532. Due to the hour I opened the letter, it was after business hours for each, so unable to confim check is valid, or to report this matter to BBB, when confimed I will contact BBB, as well the Chanber of Commerce in Walker, MI , as well as the local Law Enforcement.
