I retained the Mortgage Law Group to assist me in negotiating my modification on my home loan with Bank of America on 2/10/2012. After reading the reviews ie: something I should have done prior to retaining them. I became uncomfortable with the fact that I was dealing with people in different states and the fact that one state didn't know the responsibility of the other and they never knew who to transfer you to unless they were collecting money, which was not a problem. I immediately telephoned The Mortgage Law Group on 2/16/12 to advised them that I no longer wished to retain them and to return my funds. I was told to put this in writing and send it by e-mail. This was done immediately after hanging up the telephone. By this time they never received any personal documents from me to move forward with anything. I was transfered approximately four times before being directed to someone whom I could never reach. The following day I received a telephone call from a male subject, with terrible customer service and not a concern in the world, who advised me that he did not know why he was calling me however this male subject advised me that I may receive a partial payment or a letter in the mail even though no services were performed approximately one month after the cancellation that he told me occurred on 2/21/2012???? (I have my e-mail copy of the cancellation that shows that the request for cancellation was for the 16th). I am well over that month and am still waiting for my refund not a letter. The unfortunate part is that I'm in the process of retaining a firm to go after The Mortgage Law group for my refund and am looking forward to going media. I obtained their information from a commercial that they used to solicit and aquire customers therefore I feel that the people have a right to know what their foes are by way of the media. At this point I have nothing to lose. The monies that they took from me could have paid one month of my mortgage that I am now negotiating.
