Their website advertises a 100% guarantee for divorce forms for your specific state and county. If their forms aren't accepted by the court you get a full refund. Before sending any forms, they send you a fine printed form saying you'll pay by what method etc. In that fine print they tell you the 100% guarantee is only for 90 days, as well as other restrictions. So for $644 they sent 50 pages of forms (some even had my state and county on their letterhead). I found out that in my state the parties had to be separated (live at separate residenses) for 6 mo. prior to filing. Needless to say that was over 90 days.
When we took our forms in to our County Clerk, she looked at all the forms we were given by A Divorce by Phone and told us that NOT ONE form was acceptable or had ever been used by the county. It was near the end of the day and the Judge who actually presides over divorces was done for the day and happened to be walking by. I repeated our story on what we paid for the forms. Her response was "boy did you get screwed. I would never let these forms in my court.".
I immediately called A Divorce by Phone and demanded my money back. Of course they said it was past 90 days so tough luck. My claim was the forms were totally useless at anytime and it was really sneaky how the 100% guarantee they advertised on their website didn't mention any limit anywhere. Still denying a refund, I asked where their office was since there was none listed on their website. They refused to give their location.
I googled reviews on them (I know I should have done this first) and found numerous ticked off people. Turns out they all got worthless forms and were refused refunds even if it was before the 90days.
I've filed complaints with Michigans Attorney General, The FTC, BBB, and any other forum that I could find. I would really like my money back, as my financial situation is bad right now. I really don't think I'll see it though.
