These cybercriminals called identifying themselves as Windows Helpdesk and said they had been receiving alot of error reports from my computer. They said to prove that they were with Microsoft Windows, they said go to your computer and go to properties and they would tell me my windows ID number. And of course they knew it. How? I have not figured out yet. Then they had me do a series of tests to prove I had, I think malware, on my computer. And totally trashed my AVG protector. Said these viruses were different. They took me somewhere that said my computer was only running at 9% instead of the 97% it should be because of all the viruses it had that were slowing it down. YOur computer is really slow right? they said and of course they told me to use the last 6 numbers in my license to log into this site and when it didnt work then of course my license had expired and therefore I had no support or security protection. That is when they said that they recommended the 24 month protection. Which I figured for the $ 195 wasnt too bad to get my Microsoft Windows protection again. BUTTTTT when my statement came for a 24 session subscription, that was when I realized I didn't get what I thought I paid for. My computer was alot slower, and the infected files were still there. I have contacted Mercaway to stop payment on my Visa and contacted Aconsoft to refund the money. Mercaway has not finalized the visa transaction, but still haven't cancelled the charge and taken the hold off my Visa! I have since heard that they called alot of people on Saturday, but not all of them were as stupid and trusting as me to fall victim to their sharp salesmen who knew exactly what to say.
