I received a phone call from a representative named Chris who told me that I had to pay $49.95 for the next two years for magazines they had prepaid (without my authorization) for on my behalf. He told me they only do this for "Preferred customers" when I told him he was not authorized to do that, he told me I would go to "collections" if I tried to cancel this payment and/or my account. I told him that I was not going to pay this and he "agreed" to back down to a one-time payment for $159.90, but that would substantially shorten my magazine subscription. I told him that was fine and that I would definitely be looking into this transaction, as I have not done business with this company for at least two years. Coincidentally and conveniently for him, his records only went back 90 days at which point he assured me that I would be getting verification paperwork with the company's phone number "all over it" (he could not give me a number to call to find out how long ago I had ordered this so-called extra service from them). I have contacted an attorney and am beginning research on the legitimacy of this Magazine Solutions company in Colorado of my own. I will anxiously await this paperwork and see what happens. I know in the past, they were a legitimate business, but times are tough and sometimes, unfortunately, tough times lead to scams.
