I received a call on my home phone from a "Kevin" who stated that he was from Microsoft and wanted me to know that my computer was receiving warnings (red and yellow symbols shown on my Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer window. He said that my computer would be crashing in the near future and then crash for good. He was hesitant to provide the fee to fix this, but eventually did. After I committed to agreeing getting my computer fixed for the fee, I noticed that the billing would be going to the company name above. Boy was I taken. I called my credit card after seeing a couple dozen blog site complaints saying the same thing, for varying amounts of money.
