Millenium did the pest inspection for my house which I had just sold and then called and told me that they could offer me 15% off of their standard price if I was the first one to call them on the following day. I fell for the deal and called them accepting their bid before checking with my realtor. The realtor had gotten a bid that was $3,000.00 less and was planning to present it to me on the following weekend. Millenium had me sign a contract with them and then in the middle of the job, called me and told me that they'd found a lot more dry rot than they thought there would be and would have to increase the charges to me. My realtor told me that this is a common practice of theirs.
We are still in the middle of negotiations.
Since my house had already sold, I wasn't obligated to get the work done at all but could have used it as part of the negotiations with the buyer. I was having it done out of the goodness of my heart since I'd received a generous, I thought, offer for my house.
Please help me out if you can.
Thank you!
Mindy
