I received a call from Mr Roper on March 10th 2012 and was told that he was collecting on an old charge card my husband had with Kay Jewelers. I was given a figure and told that I needed to pay 149.70, which included a 5% service fee and that I had 60days to secure the rest. I gave him my debit card for the 1st pymt and to my surprise on March 22nd the company withdrew another 157.00 that I didnt authorize. This charge caused and overdraft on my checking account. I tried to contact Mr Roper but was told that he was unavailable and miraculously I was hung up on 3 times. I was very surprised when I searched the company and found out they weren't a legitimate company. I have contacted my bank and filed unauthroized debit forms and filed a BBC complaint. This company has 49 complaints against them and an "F" rating. 30+complaints are inregards to billing practices. Imagine that. I think this company got my husbands information from old payday loans that he had and they used his Social Security # to obtain a copy of his credit report showing the outstanding Kays account.
