I just found out that my Mom's bank account has been debited $9.95 for the last 2 1/2 YEARS for a program called "Perfect Home Rewards" sold to her when she made a catalog order in July of 2009. She is out over $280 for something she never used and didn't even know she had. It may be a perfectly legitimate program, but it was sold to her in a slimy and underhanded way. She was offered a rebate on the order she was making if she signed up for this program, which would cost $9.95 a month. Do you think they made it clear to this 82 year old woman that this would be charged to her account EVERY MONTH?? Corporate America preying on the elderly. I would have thought JCPenney was better than that. Shame on you JCPenney! I am so disappointed in you!
