Was trying to reach DirecTV customer service using their 800 number and someone came on the line claiming to be customer service. I stated my service needs and person claimed that the correct number was temp. out of service and they would assist me in reaching a direct line. Then proceeded to attempt to sell me some type of coupon program...I became upset and said I was not interested and would they please connect me to repair services. This went one for some time and I always believed I was talking to a DirecTV customer service rep. Then I was transfered to someone else and he started to sell me some other type of additional services with 900 numbers. By the time all was said and done I ended up with a $3.95 charge to my debt card and I will be watching very closley for anything else to be charged. Numerous time during the call I said I don't want anything that you are offering and please transfer me to the correct department and repeatedly I was told that they would connect me when they have finished and repeatedly I was told that the 800 number I dialed was temp. out of service. It is apparent after reading other complaints that they some how "hijacked" my call to DirecTV. I did call several numbers they gave later just to try and find out who I was dealing with. So once I receive my phone bill, I'm sure there will be some hefty charges to my phone bill.
