Scammed my father and convinced him that they would help him get thousands of dollars in "Grant Money," and would help him organize his budget. My father is 79 years old, recently widowed, and vulnerable to scams. I contacted Mason Trevino, he would not give me details, because I was not authorized, even though I announced my Powers of Attorney, and my father called to tell him I was authorized. Mason eventually changed his phone number to some sort of VOIP, and I could no longer call him, being blocked. They run their "Firm" through a UPS Store front. My father signed up, used his credit card to make the payment, but after a couple of days, and the advice of my sister, called Mason to get a refund. Mason's response was, that he was "Past the refund time, and it was not possible." So my father being embarrassed that he was being scammed decided to go through the process, and didn't tell me or my sisters about it. I cited California State Law, Welfare and Institutions Code 15610.30. (a) "Financial abuse of an elder." Beware, Mason is a clever con. He's cool and sounds wonderful.
